About our bath repair in Eastfield

Bath repair is our most common job. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, usually in a single visit. We’re often asked to fix a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and chips along the edge of the bath, on cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

What affects the price in Eastfield

Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Eastfield. What changes the price is:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Access to the area
  • How many areas need work

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

How to get a fixed quote

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Something in shot to show the size

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, include your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Repair or replace in Eastfield?

Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and replacing like for like is not cheap. A repair keeps it in place. Our bath repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Why Eastfield clients choose us

  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

See our prices page or bath cost comparison.

Do you need bath repair in Eastfield?

Most bath damage comes from something dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On steel and cast iron baths, any chip down to the metal will start to rust.

Look out for these signs:

  • Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • Holes from dropped items
  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted

What to look for in a quote

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • How your room will be protected

Choosing a repair company

When a repair is not the answer

We won’t take on work that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we work on in Eastfield

  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a few hours, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine without abrasive products.

Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water cannot get in. Remove it before the repair.

Questions from Eastfield

How much does bath repair cost in Eastfield?

Repairs from £95. Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

In most cases. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so access behind the panel is important.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before.

Is a bath repair durable?

Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.

Are you accredited?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

What happens next?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote.

Is there any odour?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Eastfield

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Eastfield use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it typically costs far less than a refit.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.
