Easthouses: your questions answered
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.
Do you work in Easthouses?
Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Easthouses and the rest of Midlothian. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
What happens next?
We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.
What do you need from me?
Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.
Is it messy?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.
Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?
Most of the time. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so access behind the panel is important.
How to care for the repair
Nothing complicated is needed:
- Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before running a bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.
Do not leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.
What affects the price in Easthouses
Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:
- The material
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Access to the area
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
Send photos for a quote
Photographing the damage takes a minute. Try to send:
- Where you are, by postcode
- Something in shot to show the size
- A picture taken from further back
- The material, if you know it
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
What a repair cannot fix
We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:
- Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.
Surfaces we repair
- Acrylic
- Cast iron enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Pressed steel enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
Signs you need bath repair in Easthouses
Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath is not properly supported, so it flexes under weight.
Send us a picture if you notice any of these:
- Damage beneath the taps
- A hole punched through by something heavy
- Chips caused by builders
- Deep scratches in acrylic
What your quote should include
- How to care for the finish
- What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
- Who will actually do the work
- If travel is included in the price

For landlords and businesses
For anyone letting property in or around Easthouses, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
How the visit works
The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a few hours. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
How to prepare
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Point us to the nearest place to park
How to get a price
For a price in Easthouses, pictures are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
Advice
Should I try a DIY kit first?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
Repairs by material
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They don’t rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
Pressed steel
Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.
