Bath repair in Ellington without replacing anything
Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. Our technicians work on pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths, and the jobs we see most are chips on the rim or sides and rust spots around the plughole.
You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Common questions in Ellington
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
Is a bath repair durable?
It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your photos and you’ll get one combined price.
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
Can tenants book a repair?
We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
Is there a guarantee?
All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
Do you cover the entire of Northumberland?
The entire UK, including all of Northumberland. Send your postcode with your photos and we’ll offer you dates.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Normally, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.
Signs you need bath repair in Ellington
Acrylic baths that crack nearly always have a support problem. Loose legs, no proper cradle or a floor that gives let the bath move.
The most common problems we are called about are:
- Scuffs and scratches in the surface
- Chips under the taps
- Chips caused by builders
- Chips along the edge of the bath

What we can’t put right
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

How the visit works
Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and how to care for it.
- First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
Preparing for the visit
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Have a window or extractor fan available

Can I fix it myself?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
Keeping it looking good
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
- Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.
Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.
For landlords and businesses
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.
Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.
Should you replace it?
Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: tiles along the rim generally crack when it comes out, the panel may not fit the new one, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. A repair skips all of it. Our bath repair starts from £95. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Different materials, different repairs
Pressed steel
Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
