How the visit works
We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we are doing. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. You can expect it to take a few hours, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- We leave it to cure; you can usually use the bath the day after.

Bath repair in Fleets, done in place
Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Common call-outs are for deep scratches in acrylic and rust by the waste and overflow, across roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll sort it.

How to care for the repair
Looking after the surface is easy:
- Have new chips seen to early
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
- Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath, avoiding abrasives.
A small chip is a quick job. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.
What we can’t put right
Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
What we work on
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Cast iron enamel
- Pressed steel enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Acrylic
DIY repairs versus a professional job
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
What your bath is made of matters
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
Pressed steel
Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.
Work for landlords and builders
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.
What we’re called out for in Fleets
Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath is not properly supported, so it flexes under weight.
You may need us if you’ve spotted:
- Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
- Snagging damage from a refit
- Rusty patches near the plughole
- A kit repair that didn’t last

Should you replace it?
Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Our bath repair starts from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
