DIY kit or professional repair?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

Coloured bath resurfacing in Fleets without replacing anything

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. A full suite is normally done in one to two days. If you’re dealing with a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and selling or letting a home with an old suite, we can usually put it right.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are covered after the visit. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Work for landlords and builders

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Do you need coloured bath resurfacing in Fleets?

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. There’s no charge for travel to Fleets. The price comes down to:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How much damage there is
  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material and finish

We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Fleets. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Getting a price from photos

When you take your pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • The material, if you know it
  • A wider photo showing the whole suite
  • Where you are, by postcode

We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

What a repair can’t fix

It helps to know what we can’t do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays

Fleets questions

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Typically, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

What happens if you find more damage?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You do not need to watch us work.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Do the materials smell?

Expect a mild smell while we are working that clears as it cures.

Do you charge for travel?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.

What about the toilet?

Ask us. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will advise honestly before quoting.

Should you replace it?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white turns it white with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.

What we do, step by step

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job normally takes one to two days for a full suite. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

How to prepare

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
