Trusted bath repair in Fovant

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Bath repair at your home in Fovant

A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and you can normally bathe again the day after. You will not need a plumber or tiler, because the bath doesn’t move. Our repair technicians work on cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths, and people most frequently call us about an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and a hole punched through by something heavy.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

What we cannot put right

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel

What we do, step by step

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, then carry out the work, which normally takes a morning or an afternoon. If anything looks different from your photos, we will talk to you before going ahead.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Why repair rather than replace?

Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. In most cases it does not: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Our bath repair starts from £95. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, finished with fired enamel. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.

Your questions about bath repair in Fovant

Are there extra charges for Fovant?

We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Mention it when you send pictures.

Do the materials smell?

It depends on the job, but often a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Can you quote from pictures?

Nearly always. If pictures don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Which areas do you work in?

The whole UK, including all of Wiltshire. Send your postcode with your photos and we’ll offer you dates.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, we frequently do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

Looking after it afterwards

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface

There is nothing special to do after a repair, just sensible cleaning. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners.

Rust under enamel spreads surprisingly quickly. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so it pays to deal with it early.

For landlords and businesses

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Fovant use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Common problems we fix in Fovant

Baths take more knocks than people expect: bottles, shower heads and razors are dropped every day, and taps and wastes are tightened against the surface. Sooner or later, most baths pick up a chip.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Chips caused by builders
  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath

What your quote should include

  • What preparation is included
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • What aftercare is recommended
