Bath repair in Gilfachreda, done in place
It pays to repair bath damage while it’s small. On steel and cast iron, exposed metal starts to rust, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. Common call-outs are for rust by the waste and overflow and chips under the taps, in cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Different materials, different repairs
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
Pressed steel
Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

Questions from Gilfachreda
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.
What do you need from me?
Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.
Does someone need to be in?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.
Can rust on a bath be repaired?
Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. We take it back to sound metal, seal it, fill it and match the colour.
Do you cover Gilfachreda?
Yes, we do. We send a technician to Gilfachreda for every job, with no extra charge for travel.
What bath repair costs
Repairs from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Gilfachreda. The price comes down to:
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- The material
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
How to get a fixed quote
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Where you are, by postcode
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

Repairing versus replacing in Gilfachreda

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Gilfachreda. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Gilfachreda
We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
DIY kit or professional repair?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
What we can’t put right
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

How it works
You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. It usually takes two to three hours for most chips, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
- We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- Once it has cured, usually by the following day, the bath is ready to use.
Before we arrive
- Ensure the area is dry
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
- Point us to the nearest place to park
