Bath Repair for Gisburn homes
We travel to Gisburn for chip and crack repairs to enamel, acrylic and cast iron baths. Nothing is taken out, with a one-year guarantee.
- Repairs from £95

- Chips on the rim or sides

What we do, step by step
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take two to three hours for most chips, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
- Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- Once it has cured, typically by the day after, the bath is ready to use.
Before we arrive
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Let us know if it has been repaired before

How we handle bath repair in Gisburn
Chips, cracks, rust spots and small holes can be repaired with the bath left exactly where it is. Nothing is unplumbed, the tiles are not touched, and the finish is matched to the rest of the bath. We regularly repair acrylic, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding, and the jobs we see most are damage done while the bathroom was being fitted and cracks in an acrylic bath.

How to look after the repair
Nothing complicated is needed:
- Do not scrub with anything abrasive
- Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
- Do not leave a fresh chip for long
- Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
There is nothing special to do after a repair, beyond gentle cleaning. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners.
Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.
How we price bath repair
Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:
- The type of damage
- Doing more than one item at once
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.
Quotes from your pictures
The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Where you are, by postcode
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.
Repair or replace in Gisburn?
Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

When to call us in Gisburn
Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else. Fittings cause damage too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.
Customers generally contact us about:
- Holes from dropped items
- Chips under the taps
- Chips along the edge of the bath
- Chips caused by builders
What to look for in a quote
- Whether a trained technician does the job
- How the colour is matched
- How your room will be protected
- What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
Repairs by material
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.
What we can’t put right
It helps to know what we can’t do:
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
Materials we repair
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Acrylic
- Cast iron enamel
- Pressed steel enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
DIY kit or professional repair?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
FAQs for Gisburn
What about rust by the waste?
Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.
Is there a call-out fee?
Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.
What do you need from me?
Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.
Can you repair a hole in a bath?
Generally. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.
Will the price change on the day?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.
Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?
Most of the time. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so we need access under the bath.
How do I get a price for bath repair in Gisburn?
Prices start from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just ensure the landlord agrees.
