Work for landlords and builders

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

About our bath repair in Great Alne

Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a repair that’s smooth, sound and hard to spot. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it’s level with the surrounding surface. Common call-outs are for a chipped rim or side and rusty patches near the plughole, across pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths.

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.

Your questions about bath repair in Great Alne

Will there be a smell?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

How invisible is a bath repair?

On a bath in good condition, a colour-matched repair is very hard to spot. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Is a bath repair durable?

Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It carries our one-year guarantee.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

Are there extra charges for Great Alne?

There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Can I fix it myself?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. There’s no area surcharge for Great Alne. The price reflects:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Access to the area
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:

  • The material, if you know it
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Details of any past repairs

To get a price, send a couple of pictures through our quote form or ring us. We will say straight away if a repair is the right fix.

Repairing versus replacing in Great Alne

People often assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. In most cases it does not: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Prices start from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

What you get with us

  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • We leave the room as we found it

What we can’t put right

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding

How to care for the repair

It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:

  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • Do not scrub with anything abrasive

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine, avoiding abrasives.

Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.

The process

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you’re not left guessing. On site, it takes a few hours for most jobs. We leave the room clean and you will know when it can be used.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Getting a price

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.
