Work for landlords and builders

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Warwickshire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Bath repair in Stratford-upon-Avon, done in place

Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it’s level with the surrounding surface. If you’re dealing with a kit repair that didn’t last and a cracked acrylic bath, we can typically put it right, on whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and cast iron enamel alike.

All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Warwickshire.

Rusty chip next to a bath plughole, before and after repair

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We price every job individually. The main factors are:

  • What the surface is made of
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The type of damage

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Stratford-upon-Avon. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send pictures for a quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Natural light rather than flash

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Questions from Stratford-upon-Avon

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Do you charge for travel?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send pictures.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

What happens after I send photos?

You will get a fixed quote back, normally with dates to choose from. There’s no obligation to book.

Will the repair last?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.

What we are called out for in Stratford-upon-Avon

Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: bottles, shower heads, tiles and tools. On enamelled baths, a chip that reaches the metal lets water in, and rust follows.

Most people contact us after spotting one of these:

  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic

Questions to ask before booking

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • How the colour is matched
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Keeping it looking good

Aftercare is simple:

  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine, avoiding abrasives.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.

How the visit works

On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job typically takes a few hours, depending on the damage. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Ask for a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

Related advice

Can I fix it myself?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one typically means a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it deals only with the damage in a single visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A repair normally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
