Bath repair in Halfway

What we are called out for in Halfway

Acrylic baths that crack nearly always have a support problem. Legs that are not adjusted, a missing cradle or a soft floor let the base flex until it cracks.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • Rust spots around the plughole
  • Chips under the taps
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic

Questions to ask before booking

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • When it can be used again
  • Who will actually do the work
  • What preparation is included

About our bath repair in Halfway

A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath. Most baths can be used again the day after. We are frequently asked to fix chips under the taps and scratches you can feel with a fingernail, across cast iron enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and pressed steel enamel.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Halfway questions

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we’ll quote them together.

How do I book?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

How invisible is a bath repair?

On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.

Can you quote from photos?

Nearly always. If pictures do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Tell us about it when you send photos.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

In most cases. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so access behind the panel is important.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so mention it when you send photos.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Halfway

Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

If you manage property in Halfway, we will quote for several properties at once. Send pictures for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

The process

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. You can expect it to take two to three hours for most chips, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the following day.

How to prepare

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Should you replace it?

Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. A repair keeps it in place. Our bath repair starts from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Halfway. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why us?

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • A fixed quote before you book
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

Read our pricing or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

Looking after it afterwards

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning

Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust sets in.

Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Halfway. The price comes down to:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many areas need work
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it.

Send photos for a quote

When you take your photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Any details about the material
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

For a price in Halfway, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.
