When we would advise against a repair
Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
- Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling

Bath repair in Hanbury without replacing anything
A damaged bath does not have to mean a new bathroom. Our repair technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, mixing the colour on the day. We work on roll-top & freestanding, acrylic and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are snagging damage from a refit and deep scratches in acrylic.
Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before booking.

What bath repair costs
Repairs from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Hanbury. The price comes down to:
- What the surface is made of
- How much damage there is
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Send photos for a quote
When you take your photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A photo taken from further back
If you are in Hanbury and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
What we’re called out for in Hanbury
Baths take more knocks than people expect: everyday items get dropped into it all the time, and fittings press hard against the enamel. Sooner or later, most baths pick up a chip.
People normally call us when they notice something like this:
- Rust spots around the plughole
- A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting
- Damage beneath the taps
- Hairline or through cracks in acrylic

The process
The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes two to three hours for most chips. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to look after it.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
- The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- Once it has cured, generally by the next day, the bath is ready to use.
Before we arrive
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Clear the area around the damage
- Have a window or extractor fan available
How to get a price
For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Repairs by material
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Looking after it afterwards
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Have new chips seen to early
- Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
- Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
- Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath without abrasive products.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.
Work for landlords and builders
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Staffordshire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
Hanbury: your questions answered
Do you repair coloured baths?
Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including older coloured suites.
Do I have to be there?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.
How invisible is a bath repair?
The goal is a repair that blends in. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath, and we will tell you what to expect.
Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?
Most of the time. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so access behind the panel is important.
When can you do it?
We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.
Can you price it without visiting?
In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.
Do the materials smell?
A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.
Is there a call-out fee?
No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.
