About our bath repair in Havant

Bath repair is our most common job. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in a single visit. Common call-outs are for a cracked acrylic bath and rusty patches near the plughole, in whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back.

Signs you need bath repair in Havant

Acrylic baths that crack nearly always have a support problem. Loose legs, no proper cradle or a floor that gives let the base flex.

People generally call us when they notice one of these:

  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • Holes from dropped items
  • Chips under the taps
  • Deep scratches in acrylic

10 questions to ask before you book

Repairing versus replacing in Havant

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Prices start from £95. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Havant: your questions answered

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Is a bath repair permanent?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps it last.

What areas do you cover?

We work UK-wide, so Havant is covered. Prices don’t change with location.

Do you come to Havant?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Havant and the rest of Hampshire. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders in Havant.

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

How long before I can use the bath?

Most baths can be used the day after. We will tell you the exact curing time when we finish.

Can you redo an old repair?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Tell us about it when you send photos.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Havant. What changes the price is:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How many areas need work
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many items we do on one visit

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Getting a price from pictures

You can take the pictures on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Ensure they show:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Work for landlords and builders

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Hampshire and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

What we do, step by step

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to a morning or an afternoon, tidy-up included.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

How to get a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

What we cannot put right

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
