FAQs for Heogan

What areas do you cover?

The whole UK, including all of the Shetland Islands. Send your postcode with your photos and we’ll confirm dates.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Is a bath repair durable?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It carries our one-year guarantee.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes, we match coloured baths too. We tint the finish to your bath on site.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

In most cases. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so access behind the panel is important.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your photos and you will get one combined price.

Bath repair at your home in Heogan

Bath repair is our most common job. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all repaired in place, normally in one visit. If you’re dealing with a hole punched through by something heavy and a kit repair that didn’t last, we can help, on whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel alike.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

What we cannot put right

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel

Work for landlords and builders

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. In most cases it does not: a proper repair gives it years more use, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Our bath repair starts from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

Why us?

  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • Same prices wherever you are

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. There is no charge for travel to Heogan. The price comes down to:

  • The material and finish
  • How much damage there is
  • Access to the area
  • Whether we combine several jobs

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Getting a price from pictures

You can typically get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.

How it works

We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we’re doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. You can expect it to take two to three hours for most chips, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
