Bath repair in High Green, done in place
Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. We regularly repair cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and acrylic, and people most frequently call us about a cracked acrylic bath and a kit repair that didn’t last.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in High Green as everywhere else we work.

How to look after the repair
To keep it looking its best for years:
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
- Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
Give the repair the full curing time we recommend before running a bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.
If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.
High Green questions
Can you repair a failed DIY repair?
Yes, we do this frequently. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.
What about rust by the waste?
Yes, very frequently. We take it back to sound metal, seal it, fill it and match the colour.
Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?
Often, if there’s access underneath. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.
What do you need from me?
A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.
Is my repair covered?
Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
Is there a call-out fee?
Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Will it make a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.
Different materials, different repairs
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
Should you replace it?
Replacing a fitted bath usually means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Prices start from £95. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. We give every job a fixed price from photos. This is what makes a difference:
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- The colour and finish to match
- Doing more than one item at once
A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Getting a price from photos
Phone pictures are fine, there is no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:
- A photo taken from further back
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Any details about the material
To get a price, send two or three pictures using our quote form or ring us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.
How the visit works
On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, including clearing up.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
Getting ready for the visit
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Have a window or extractor fan available
Ask for a price
No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.
Advice
When we’d advise against a repair
Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.
What we work on
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Acrylic
- Pressed steel enamel
- Cast iron enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
Can I fix it myself?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
For landlords and businesses
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Sheffield and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip.
