Work for landlords and builders

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
Bath repair in Hinton Blewett, done in place
A damaged bath doesn’t have to mean a new bathroom. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, with the colour mixed on site so the repair is hard to spot. If you’re dealing with a kit repair that didn’t last and damage beneath the taps, we can help.
Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee in Hinton Blewett and across Bath and North East Somerset.

Looking after it afterwards
Looking after the surface is easy:
- Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
- Store metal items away from the bath
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
- Have new chips seen to early
Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.
Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. A chip the size of a fingernail can become a much larger patch if it’s left for months, so it pays to deal with it early.
What we cannot put right
It helps to know what we can’t do:
- A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
- Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.
What we work on
- Acrylic
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Pressed steel enamel
- Cast iron enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:
- How hard the colour is to match
- The material
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- What kind of damage it is
Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access.
Quotes from your pictures
Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- The material, if you know it
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Natural light rather than flash
You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
Hinton Blewett questions
Do you cover Hinton Blewett?
Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Hinton Blewett and the rest of Bath and North East Somerset. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
How invisible is a bath repair?
The goal is a repair that blends in. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath, and we’ll tell you what to expect.
Do the materials smell?
There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.
Will the repair last?
Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps.
How soon can you come?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
Are you a vetted contractor?
We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Typically, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.
Do you charge for travel?
There’s no separate call-out charge. Your fixed price includes everything.
Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: tiles along the rim typically crack when it comes out, a new panel is often needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.
Why us?
- Most jobs done in one visit
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
- No extra charge for your area
- No need to remove anything

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

What we do, step by step
Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take a few hours, and we leave the room as we found it.
- We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
- The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
- We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
- We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
- We leave it to cure; you can typically use the bath the day after.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
