Bath chip & crack repair in Holt, Dorset
Chip and crack repairs to enamel, acrylic and cast iron baths in Holt, carried out at your home and guaranteed for a year.

What your bath is made of matters
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.
Bath repair in Holt, done in place
It pays to repair bath damage while it’s small. On steel and cast iron, exposed metal starts to rust, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. We’re often asked to fix chips under the taps and an old repair that has yellowed or come loose, in pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

What else we do in Holt
How we price bath repair
Repairs from £95. We price every job individually, from your pictures. The main factors are:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- How hard the colour is to match
- The material
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Holt. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
How to get a fixed quote
Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:
- Something in shot to show the size
- The material, if you know it
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- One picture of the entire bath
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job the same day in most cases.
Why repair rather than replace?
Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and replacing like for like is not cheap. A repair keeps it in place. Prices start from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

What we do, step by step
Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which normally takes a morning or an afternoon. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- We leave it to cure; you can generally use the bath the day after.
How to prepare
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
Ask for a price
We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

What a repair can’t fix
Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. We can’t fix:
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
- Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.
Surfaces we repair
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Acrylic
- Cast iron enamel
- Pressed steel enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
Looking after it afterwards
To keep it looking its best for years:
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
- Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
- Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
- Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
Look after the repair the same way as the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.
A small chip is a quick job. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.
Can I fix it myself?
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.
