Trusted bath repair in Horse Race End

Bath repair at your home in Horse Race End

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. We regularly repair acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths, and people most often call us about a hole punched through by something heavy and a kit repair that didn’t last.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee in Horse Race End and across Wakefield.

Bath enamel chip by the waste, filled and colour matched (before and after)

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • What the surface is made of
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether we combine several jobs

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Send photos for a quote

Two or three clear pictures are generally enough. It helps if you send:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Horse Race End

If you manage property in Horse Race End, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

The process

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, and get on with the job, which generally takes two to three hours for most chips. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Should you replace it?

Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. Normally it doesn’t: a proper repair gives it years more use, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Horse Race End. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why book with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Work done at your home or business

See our prices page and guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

When a repair is not the answer

A repair is not right for every job, including:

  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

How to look after the repair

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water cannot get in. Take it off before we arrive.

Questions from Horse Race End

I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?

Regularly. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Can pets and children be at home?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

How invisible is a bath repair?

On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Often, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a picture.

What do you need from me?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

What areas do you cover?

Everywhere in the UK, Horse Race End included. There is no extra charge for travel.
