Bath repair in Illogan Highway, done in place
You don’t need a new bath because of a chip. Our repair technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, mixing the colour on the day so the repair is hard to spot. Our repair technicians work on acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel, and common reasons people get in touch are damage beneath the taps and rusty patches near the plughole.
Every job is backed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

DIY kit or professional repair?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
Repairing versus replacing in Illogan Highway
Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. A repair keeps it in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

How we price bath repair
Repairs from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:
- The colour and finish to match
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- How much damage there is
- Whether we combine several jobs
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking.
Getting a price from pictures
The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- One picture of the entire bath
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
If you’re in Illogan Highway and want a price, photos are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
What happens on the day
You do not need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a morning or an afternoon, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the day after.
Before we arrive
- Clear the area around the damage
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

When to call us in Illogan Highway
Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and building work is a common culprit. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.
You may need us if you’ve spotted:
- A chipped rim or side
- Rust by the waste and overflow
- A hole punched through by something heavy
- Deep scratches in acrylic

Questions from Illogan Highway
Will there be a smell?
A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.
What areas do you cover?
We cover the entire UK, including Illogan Highway and the rest of Cornwall. Send your postcode with your photos and we’ll confirm dates.
Do you cover Illogan Highway?
Yes, we do. Repair technicians travel to Illogan Highway from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.
Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?
Generally, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a photo.
How do I book?
Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will take it from there.
Will you leave a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.
Do you charge for travel?
No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Honest limits
We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.
What we work on
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Cast iron enamel
- Pressed steel enamel
- Acrylic
- Whirlpool & spa baths
Repairs by material
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Looking after it afterwards
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath without abrasive products.
Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. A chip the size of a fingernail can become a much larger patch if it’s left for months, so it pays to deal with it early.
