How bath repair works in TR15
A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath. You can generally use the bath the following day. Typical jobs include an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and chips under the taps, in acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths.
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take a morning or an afternoon, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, usually the next day.
What it costs in TR15
Our bath repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Around Redruth
Our clients here include homes close to Pennoweth Primary School, Redruth School and Coffee Tavern. There is a railway station in Redruth itself: Redruth station. Nearby you will also find Camborne Redruth Community Hospital (0.9 miles south-west) and Moseley Industrial Narrow Gauge Tramway And Toy Museum (1 mile west). The countryside around Redruth includes Carnmenellis.
Keeping it looking good
How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:
- Have new chips seen to early
- Store metal items away from the bath
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
There is nothing special to do after a repair, just sensible cleaning. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners and rinse after use.
Do not leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
Why repair rather than replace?
Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in one visit.
Questions to ask before booking
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
- What prep work is covered
- How to care for the finish
- How your room will be protected
Different materials, different repairs
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, just like other baths.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
What we’re called out for in TR15
Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.
Keep an eye out for any of the following:
- Rust by the waste and overflow
- Chips caused by builders
- Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
- Chips on the rim or sides
