Bath repair for Innellan homes

Bath repair at your home in Innellan

Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it’s level with the surrounding surface. We work on whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and pressed steel enamel, and people most frequently call us about a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and rust spots around the plughole.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Innellan as everywhere else we work.

Signs you need bath repair in Innellan

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath is not properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
  • A chipped rim or side
  • Holes from dropped items
  • Rusty patches near the plughole

What your bath is made of matters

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

What we do, step by step

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you are not left guessing. Once we’re there, the work takes a few hours in most cases. We leave the room clean and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Open a window if you can

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • What the surface is made of

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from photos

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Email us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you are in Innellan, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Questions from Innellan

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

What happens after I send photos?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the whole bath and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

Will the price change on the day?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Can you redo an old repair?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Mention it when you send photos.

Is a bath repair durable?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps it last.

When can I have a bath again?

Normally by the following day, depending on the repair.

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Have new chips seen to early

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

Honest limits

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Repair or replace: which is better?

Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. A repair keeps it in place. Our bath repair starts from £95. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
