Bath repair at your home in Inner Avenue

Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. A repair stops both. Whether it’s a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and scratches you can feel with a fingernail, we can typically put it right.

All our work comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Southampton.

Your questions about bath repair in Inner Avenue

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes, we match coloured baths too. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.

When can I have a bath again?

Most baths can be used the day after. We will tell you the exact curing time when we finish.

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

Most of the time. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so we need access under the bath.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Normally. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it generally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. There is no charge for travel to Inner Avenue. The price comes down to:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The type of damage
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your photos

You can take the photos on your phone. Make sure they show:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Any details about the material

For a price in Inner Avenue, pictures are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

DIY kit or professional repair?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Inner Avenue as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Repair or replace in Inner Avenue?

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it deals only with the damage in one visit. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it.

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Common problems we fix in Inner Avenue

Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else. Taps and wastes cause problems too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.

  • A chip where the taps sit
  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • Impact holes in acrylic

What a repair cannot fix

We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel

How the visit works

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which normally takes two to three hours for most chips. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can normally use the bath the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
