How we handle bath repair in Inver

You do not need a new bath because of a chip. Our repair technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, with the colour mixed on site. Typical jobs include a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and rust by the waste and overflow, on pressed steel enamel, acrylic and cast iron enamel.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Common questions in Inver

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so we need access under the bath.

Do you work in Inver?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Inver and the rest of Highland. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is there a call-out fee?

There’s no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.

How long does the repair take to cure?

Normally by the following day, though it depends on what we have done.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Is a bath repair permanent?

Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

Usually. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Common problems we fix in Inver

The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: the bath isn’t properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Damage beneath the taps
  • Rust spots around the plughole
  • A hole punched through by something heavy

Choosing a repair company

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. There’s no area surcharge for Inver. The price reflects:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What the surface is made of
  • Doing more than one item at once

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Getting a price from photos

Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • One picture of the whole bath
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

For landlords and businesses

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

For anyone letting property in or around Inver, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send photos for each one and we’ll price them together.

Should you replace it?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Our bath repair starts from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Why book with us

  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

How it works

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which usually takes a few hours, depending on the damage. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

How to prepare

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

Getting a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Repairs by material

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

How to care for the repair

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning

A repaired bath needs no special treatment, beyond gentle cleaning. Skip bleach and gritty creams.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through until it’s repaired. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.
