Bath repair at your home in Inverbervie
Bath repair is our most common job. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, usually in a single visit. Common call-outs are for chips caused by builders and a hole punched through by something heavy, on cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths.
All our work comes with a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Aberdeenshire.

Common problems we fix in Inverbervie
The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.
Keep an eye out for these signs:
- Chips caused by builders
- Holes from dropped items
- Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
- A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting
What your quote should include
- How your room will be protected
- What aftercare is recommended
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- When it can be used again
DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
What a repair can’t fix
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:
- Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.
Surfaces we repair
- Cast iron enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Acrylic
- Pressed steel enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
Keeping it looking good
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.
Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water cannot get in. Remove it before the repair.
Repair or replace: which is better?
A new bath costs more than the bath itself: removal and disposal, plumbing, a new panel, tiling and decorating. A repair is one job, done in one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
Why book with us
- Most jobs done in one visit

What happens on the day
You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take two to three hours for most chips, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Let the surface dry out before the visit

Different materials, different repairs
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, just like other baths.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.
Inverbervie: your questions answered
Can landlords book you?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders across Aberdeenshire.
Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?
Generally, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a picture.
Are there extra charges for Inverbervie?
We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.
Can you repair a failed DIY repair?
Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Mention it when you send pictures.
How invisible is a bath repair?
On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.
Can you repair a hole in a bath?
Often, if there is access underneath. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.
Will there be a smell?
A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.
What happens if you find more damage?
Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.
