Bath repair at your home in King's Acre

A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and you can typically bathe again the next day. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because the bath doesn’t move. Whether it’s hairline or through cracks in acrylic and chips along the edge of the bath, we can help, on pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding alike.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we will come back.

When a repair isn’t the answer

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • A steel bath rusted through
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel

Repairs by material

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

How the visit works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow a morning or an afternoon. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Getting a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

Choosing a repair company

Your questions about bath repair in King's Acre

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Mention it when you send pictures.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the whole bath and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

What happens after I send photos?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.

Can I fix it myself?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

How to care for the repair

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Store metal items away from the bath

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath without abrasive products.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why us?

  • Usually one visit, start to finish
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • A fixed quote before booking
