How we handle bath repair in Landport
A damaged bath does not have to mean a new bathroom. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, mixing the colour on the day. Typical jobs include scratches you can feel with a fingernail and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted, across roll-top & freestanding, cast iron enamel and acrylic.
You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Work for landlords and builders
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Landport use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it typically costs far less than a refit.
Common questions in Landport
Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?
Usually, yes, if we can reach behind it. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.
Will you leave a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.
Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?
Normally, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a picture.
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Portsmouth.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
What happens after I send pictures?
You get a fixed price and available dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.
Do you charge for travel?
We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.
How much does bath repair cost in Landport?
Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.
What bath repair costs
Repairs from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Doing more than one item at once
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking.
How to get a fixed quote
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:
- Something in shot to show the size
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Details of any past repairs
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.
Do you need bath repair in Landport?
Many chips happen while the bathroom is being fitted. Tools, tiles and fittings get dropped into the bath, often before anyone notices. Snagging repairs like these are a regular job for us.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- Rust spots around the plughole
- Chips along the edge of the bath
- Deep scratches in acrylic
- A kit repair that didn’t last
What to look for in a quote
- What happens if they find more damage
- How soon you can use it again
- How the room is protected while they work
- Whether the price covers travel
What else we do in Landport
Why repair rather than replace?
When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and the bathroom stays as it is. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we’ll tell you. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.
What you get with us
- One-year guarantee on every repair
- We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
- One price list for the whole UK
- Typically one visit, start to finish

Aftercare tips
How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Rinse it down after each bath
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before running a bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.
Do not leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.
How the visit works
On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, including clearing up.
- First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
- Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
Preparing for the visit
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
How to get a price
Upload a photo of the damage and one of the entire item, with your PO1 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
