How we handle bath repair in Portsmouth
We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath. Most baths can be used again the day after. If you are dealing with chips caused by builders and impact holes in acrylic, we can help.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Aftercare tips
Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
- Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine without abrasive products.
Rust under enamel spreads surprisingly quickly. A chip the size of a fingernail can become a much larger patch if it’s left for months, so early repair keeps the cost down.
For landlords and businesses
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Portsmouth questions
What areas do you cover?
We cover the whole UK, including Portsmouth and the rest of Portsmouth. Send your postcode with your photos and we’ll offer you dates.
Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?
Typically, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a picture.
Are you accredited?
We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.
Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?
Frequently, if there’s access underneath. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.
Will the price change on the day?
We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.
Will you leave a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.
What bath repair costs
Repairs from £95. You will know the full cost before booking. We take into account:
- The material and finish
- How easy the damage is to reach
- How hard the colour is to match
- Doing more than one item at once
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Portsmouth. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Quotes from your photos
We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:
- One picture of the entire bath
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- The material, if you know it
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
Most clients in Portsmouth get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
Why repair rather than replace?
A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it takes one visit, and the bathroom stays exactly as it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Why book with us
- Honest advice, even when it means no job
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish
- Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
- Every repair guaranteed for a year

How the visit works
On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, tidy-up included.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- We match both the colour and the shine.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.
Before we arrive
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Let us know if it has been repaired before

Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
Can I fix it myself?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
What we cannot put right
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Surfaces we repair
- Pressed steel enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Acrylic
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Cast iron enamel
