Bath repair near Laneast

About our bath repair in Laneast

We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. Most baths can be used again the next day. Our repair technicians work on whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and cast iron enamel, and people most frequently call us about a cracked acrylic bath and an old repair that has yellowed or come loose.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

When a repair is not the answer

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • A steel bath rusted through

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Repairing versus replacing in Laneast

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. We give every job a fixed price from pictures. These are the things that affect it:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The type of damage

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Getting a price from photos

Phone pictures are fine. Just make sure we can see:

  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

For landlords and businesses

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

For anyone letting property in or around Laneast, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Just send pictures for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

Aftercare tips

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Do not scrub with anything abrasive
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Every use opens the crack a little more, and water can get through to the floor below.

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.

What happens on the day

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the work takes a few hours. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. Once it has cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready to use.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Let us know about parking or access
