About our bath repair in Larbert

It pays to repair bath damage while it’s small. On steel and cast iron, exposed metal starts to rust, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. A repair stops both. Typical jobs include an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted, on acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in Larbert and across Falkirk.

How to look after the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Have new chips seen to early
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Every use opens the crack a little more, and water can get through to the floor below.

What a repair can’t fix

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel

Should you replace it?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, a new panel is frequently needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Larbert. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why book with us

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • Access to the area
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed price

Phone pictures are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Make sure they show:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Where you are, by postcode

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures through our quote form or call us. We’ll say right away if a repair is the right fix.

When to call us in Larbert

Rust typically starts where water sits, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Chips under the taps

What to look for in a quote

  • What preparation is included
  • Aftercare advice
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers

Questions from Larbert

Can tenants book a repair?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

Frequently, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a picture.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

When can I have a bath again?

Normally within a day, depending on the repair.

Is there any odour?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Will the price change on the day?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

What we do, step by step

We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Open a window if you can
  • Make sure the area is dry

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Advice

Repairs by material

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.
