Bath repair for Little Dalby homes

Do you need bath repair in Little Dalby?

Rust tends to begin where water collects, around the waste, under the taps or in an old chip. Once water reaches the steel or iron, rust spreads under the enamel.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Chips along the edge of the bath

Our hiring checklist

How we handle bath repair in Little Dalby

A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and the bath is back in use the following day. You will not need a plumber or tiler, because the bath does not move. We are often asked to fix chips along the edge of the bath and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted, in whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel.

All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee.

Before and after: a damaged acrylic bath corner repaired in place

The process

We begin by going over the job with you. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. It normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the day after.

How to prepare

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

How to get a price

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Advice

Little Dalby questions

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Can you repair a hole in a bath?

Normally. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.

How do I get a price for bath repair in Little Dalby?

Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed quote from your pictures. Send a close-up and a picture of the whole item with your LE14 postcode.

Do you come to Little Dalby?

We do. We send a technician to Little Dalby for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

What areas do you cover?

The entire UK, including all of Leicestershire. Send your postcode with your photos and we will confirm dates.

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes, we match coloured baths too. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The type of damage
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

A repair typically costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from pictures

Two or three clear photos are normally enough. Try to include:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, a new panel is frequently needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Prices start from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

When we’d advise against a repair

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.
