Bath repair in Lochawe, done in place

A damaged bath doesn’t have to mean a new bathroom. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, with the colour mixed on site so the repair is hard to spot. Our technicians work on whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel, and people most often call us about an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and hairline or through cracks in acrylic.

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Argyll and Bute.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

For landlords and businesses

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Questions from Lochawe

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

Often, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a photo.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. If photos do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes, coloured baths are no problem. We tint the finish to your bath on site.

What happens after I send pictures?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.

Can you redo an old repair?

Regularly. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.

Is there any odour?

There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

What we are called out for in Lochawe

A cracked acrylic bath normally wasn’t supported properly. Legs that are not adjusted, a missing cradle or a soft floor let the base flex until the acrylic gives way.

Look out for these signs:

  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting

Questions to ask before booking

  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • What preparation is included
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

How to compare quotes

What happens on the day

We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. You can expect it to take a morning or an afternoon, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.

How to prepare

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

How to get a price

Most clients in Lochawe get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Honest limits

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Repair or replace in Lochawe?

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it takes one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Prices start from £95. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why book with us

  • No extra charge for your area
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Looking after it afterwards

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Do not scrub with anything abrasive
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface

Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water cannot get in. Remove it before the repair.
