Bath repair in Longbar, done in place
We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. Each material is repaired a little differently: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. Our repair technicians work on pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic, and people most often call us about chips along the edge of the bath and holes from dropped items.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

Longbar: your questions answered
Will it make a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.
Will the price change on the day?
The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.
Which areas do you work in?
The entire UK, including all of North Ayrshire. Just include your postcode and we’ll offer you dates.
Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?
In most cases. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.
Will I be able to see the repair?
On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.
When can you do it?
We’ll give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
Can you price it without visiting?
In nearly every case. If photos don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.
What information do you need?
A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

Repairing versus replacing in Longbar
A new bath costs more than the bath itself: taking out the old one, plumbing, tiling, a panel and redecorating. With a repair, it’s one visit and one price. Our bath repair starts from £95. Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Why book with us
- Work done at your home or business
- Honest advice, even when it means no job

Landlords, agents and businesses in Longbar
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
How it works
From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes a few hours, depending on the damage, depending on what we find, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
Getting ready for the visit
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Open a window if you can
- Make sure the area is dry

What bath repair costs
Repairs from £95. There is no charge for travel to Longbar. The price depends on:
- How hard the colour is to match
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- How many areas need work
- Whether we combine several jobs
No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
How to get a fixed price
Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
- What it’s made of, if you know
For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.
Different materials, different repairs
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
How to look after the repair
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- Rinse it down after each bath
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- Do not leave a fresh chip for long
For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine without abrasive products.
If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.
When a repair is not the answer
In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.
Surfaces we repair
- Cast iron enamel
- Pressed steel enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Acrylic
