Low Mill: your questions answered
How soon can you come?
That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
How long does the repair take to cure?
Usually the day after. We will tell you the exact curing time when we finish.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you’ll get one combined price.
Which areas do you work in?
Everywhere in the UK, Low Mill included. There is no extra charge for travel.
Do you hold any accreditations?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Will the repair last?
It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.
What about rust by the waste?
Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.
Can you repair a hole in a bath?
Usually. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.
Bath repair in Low Mill, done in place
Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. On steel and cast iron, exposed metal starts to rust, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. A repair stops both. We regularly repair acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths, and common reasons people contact us are a chipped rim or side and a cracked acrylic bath.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
How we price bath repair
Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Low Mill. What changes the price is:
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- What the surface is made of
- The colour and finish to match
A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Send pictures for a quote
We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Any details about the material
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.
Aftercare tips
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
- Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before running a bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.
A small chip is a quick job. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: tiles along the rim normally crack when it comes out, a new panel is often needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

Landlord and trade work in Low Mill
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Low Mill as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.

Do you need bath repair in Low Mill?
Rust normally starts where water sits, around the waste, under the taps or in an old chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.
Look out for these signs:
- Impact holes in acrylic
- Snagging damage from a refit
- Cracks in an acrylic bath
- Rusty patches near the plughole
Questions to ask before booking
- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
- How long it needs to cure
- What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
- What preparation is included
The process
Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes a few hours, depending on the damage. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
Getting ready for the visit
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
How to get a price
You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
