Bath enamel chip by the waste, filled and colour matched (before and after)

The process

Your technician turns up when we said we would and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes two to three hours for most chips, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Honest limits

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

For landlords and businesses

For anyone letting property in or around Marlbrook, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send pictures for each one and we will come back with a combined price.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

What we are called out for in Marlbrook

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • A chipped rim or side
  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • Damage beneath the taps
  • Rust spots around the plughole

Your questions about bath repair in Marlbrook

Will the repair last?

Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Do you cover the entire of Worcestershire?

All of Worcestershire, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Often, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a picture.

When can I have a bath again?

Most baths can be used the day after. We will tell you the exact curing time when we finish.

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes, we do this often. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Marlbrook. The price reflects:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material
  • How hard the colour is to match

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Quotes from your photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Any details about the material
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Where you are, by postcode

To get a price, send two or three pictures through our quote form or call us. We’ll say right away if a repair is the right fix.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: tiles along the rim generally crack when it comes out, a new panel is often needed, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why book with us

How to look after the repair

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Rinse it down after each bath

Don’t leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. And fix dripping taps promptly.

A small chip is a quick job. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.

Repairs by material

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
