Shower tray repair in Moccas without replacing anything

We repair plenty of shower trays. Chips by the waste, cracks across the base and dull, stained surfaces can all be put right without removing the tray. We’re often asked to fix a damaged area around the waste and scratches from cleaning or grit, on cast iron, acrylic and stone resin.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The material
  • How much damage there is

We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Getting a price from pictures

You can take the pictures on your phone. Make sure they show:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

What we are called out for in Moccas

Stone resin trays are rigid, so they crack rather than bend if the floor beneath them is not flat and fully supported. Movement in a timber floor has the same effect.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Chips or cracks by the plughole
  • Scuffs and light scratches
  • Chips caused during fitting
  • Chips on the edges

Aftercare tips

Aftercare is simple:

  • Don’t use strong acids or bleach
  • Do not ignore a tray that flexes
  • Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner
  • Reseal when the silicone splits or turns black

Check the silicone around the tray every few months, and reseal when it starts to fail.

A tray that moves underfoot needs looking at, before it cracks or gets worse.

Repairs by material

Enamelled steel

Steel trays have an enamel surface like a steel bath. Exposed metal can rust, so it’s worth repairing early.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Your questions about shower tray repair in Moccas

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the entire UK, including Moccas and the rest of Herefordshire. Just include your postcode and we’ll offer you dates.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Do you charge for travel?

We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Is a cracked shower tray safe to use?

We’d stop using it until it’s repaired, because water may be getting underneath.

Will the price change on the day?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Do you come to Moccas?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Moccas for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Can a cracked shower tray be repaired?

Frequently. If the tray moves, the support needs fixing first.

Work for landlords and builders

If you manage property in Moccas, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Repair or replace: which is better?

The tray itself may not cost much, but the work around it does: taking out the enclosure, tiling and resealing. Repairing it takes one visit. Our shower tray repair starts from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

What you get with us

  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

How it works

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. Once we’re there, the work takes a few hours for a repair, longer for a full resurface in most cases. We leave the room clean.

  1. The surrounding area is sheeted and masked.
  2. Old sealant is removed if it’s in the way.
  3. We clean and key the tray, then repair the damage.
  4. The surface is refinished to match.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when you can shower.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Let us know about parking or access
