About our bath repair in Moolham
We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath. Most baths can be used again the day after. We regularly repair whirlpool & spa baths, cast iron enamel and acrylic, and the jobs we see most are chips along the edge of the bath and deep scratches in acrylic.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
The process
You do not need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It usually takes a few hours, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- Once it has cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready to use.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:
- How hard the colour is to match
- What the surface is made of
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Getting a price from pictures
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:
- Something in shot to show the size
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Details of any past repairs
To get a price, send two or three pictures using our quote form or ring us. We’ll say immediately if a repair is the right fix.
What a repair cannot fix
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
- A steel bath rusted through
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.
Materials we repair
- Acrylic
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Cast iron enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Pressed steel enamel
What your bath is made of matters
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, just like other baths.
How to care for the repair
So the finish stays in good condition:
- Store metal items away from the bath
- Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
A repaired bath needs no special treatment, just sensible cleaning. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners.
Do not leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.
Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. A repair fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Prices start from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Moolham: your questions answered
Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?
In most cases. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.
Do the materials smell?
There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?
In most cases. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.
Are there extra charges for Moolham?
There’s no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.
Which areas do you work in?
Across the UK, so Moolham is covered. Prices do not change with location.
Can you quote from photos?
Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.
