Bath Repair in Northstead
Chip and crack repairs to enamel, acrylic and cast iron baths in Northstead, carried out at your home and guaranteed for a year.
- Repairs from £95
- A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting
- Chips along the edge of the bath

How to care for the repair
It’s all simple stuff:
- Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
- Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
Care for the repair the same way as the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.
Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. A chip the size of a fingernail can become a much larger patch if it’s left for months, so it pays to deal with it early.
About our bath repair in Northstead
Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, is repaired in place. Nothing is unplumbed, your tiles stay as they are, and the finish is matched to the rest of the bath. Typical jobs include scratches you can feel with a fingernail and cracks in an acrylic bath, in acrylic, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding.
Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

Should you replace it?
People often assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. Usually it doesn’t: a proper repair gives it years more use, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How it works
Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Plan for two to three hours for most chips. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

When we’d advise against a repair
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- A steel bath rusted through
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
- A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
What we work on
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Pressed steel enamel
- Acrylic
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Cast iron enamel
Should I try a DIY kit first?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.
What your bath is made of matters
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Questions from Northstead
Can you redo an old repair?
Yes, we do this often. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.
Do you come to Northstead?
We do. We send a technician to Northstead for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Can you repair several things at once?
Of course, and it typically saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.
What happens after I send photos?
We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote with dates.
Will the repair last?
Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps.
Can you quote from photos?
In nearly every case. If pictures do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: the bath isn’t properly supported, so it flexes under weight.
It’s worth getting a quote if you see:
- Damage beneath the taps
- Deep scratches in acrylic
- Chips caused by builders
- Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
