Bath repair at your home in Nova Scotia
You do not need a new bath because of a chip. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, mixing the colour on the day so the repair is hard to spot. We regularly repair roll-top & freestanding, cast iron enamel and acrylic, and common reasons people contact us are chips under the taps and scuffs and scratches in the surface.
Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Repairing versus replacing in Nova Scotia
When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and the bathroom stays as it is. Where the entire surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Nova Scotia: your questions answered
Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?
Frequently, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a picture.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send pictures.
What areas do you cover?
Across the UK, so Nova Scotia is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.
Are you a vetted contractor?
We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
What happens after I send photos?
We come back with a fixed price, usually with dates to choose from. You’re under no obligation.
Will there be a smell?
There can be some smell while we work. It fades as everything cures.
Can you repair a failed DIY repair?
Yes, we do this often. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Nova Scotia
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.
When we would advise against a repair
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
- A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

How the visit works
Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. Allow a morning or an afternoon, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.
Getting ready for the visit
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Point us to the nearest place to park
Getting a price
You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
Advice

What else we do in Nova Scotia
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Aftercare tips
How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:
- Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
- Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust sets in.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Take it off before we arrive.
How we price bath repair
Prices start from £95. We give every job a fixed price from pictures. These are the things that affect it:
- The size and number of damaged areas
- How hard the colour is to match
- The material
- Doing more than one item at once
We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Nova Scotia. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Quotes from your pictures
You can take the pictures on your phone. Just ensure we can see:
- One picture of the whole bath
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.
