Bath repair near Nyland

How we handle bath repair in Nyland

You don’t need a new bath because of a chip. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, mixing the colour on the day so the repair is hard to spot. Whether it’s chips along the edge of the bath and damage beneath the taps, we can usually put it right, whatever the material.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Signs you need bath repair in Nyland

Rust normally starts where water sits, around the waste, under the taps or in an old chip. Once water reaches the steel or iron, rust spreads under the enamel.

These are the problems we are asked about most:

  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Rust spots around the plughole
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface

What your quote should include

  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • How long it needs to cure

How to compare quotes

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

Should you replace it?

Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. In most cases it doesn’t: a proper repair gives it years more use, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Our bath repair starts from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it.

Why book with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do

When we’d advise against a repair

A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:

  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

What affects the price in Nyland

Repairs from £95. Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The material and finish

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Send pictures for a quote

Two or three clear pictures are generally enough. It helps if you send:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A photo taken from further back

For a price in Nyland, photos are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Nyland: your questions answered

Do you come to Nyland?

Yes, we do. Technicians travel to Nyland from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

How do I book?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

What areas do you cover?

All of Somerset, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

How long before I can use the bath?

Normally by the following day, though it depends on what we have done.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

How the visit works

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take two to three hours for most chips, including clearing up.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Make sure the area is dry

How to look after the repair

Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Every use opens the crack a little more, and water can get through to the floor below.
