How we handle bath repair in Ollerton

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. If you’re dealing with rust by the waste and overflow and holes from dropped items, we can usually put it right, whatever the material.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re not left on your own once we’ve gone.

Your questions about bath repair in Ollerton

How soon can you come?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

How long before I can use the bath?

Most baths can be used the following day. We will tell you the exact curing time when we finish.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Mention it when you send photos.

Do you come to Ollerton?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Ollerton and the rest of Cheshire East. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

Can pets and children be at home?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. If there’s more, we’ll tell you before starting.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including older coloured suites.

When we would advise against a repair

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Landlord and trade work in Ollerton

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

Why repair rather than replace?

Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and replacing like for like isn’t cheap. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Our bath repair starts from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

What you get with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

See our prices page or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

How to care for the repair

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners

Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust can start.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and water can get through to the floor below.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

What affects the price in Ollerton

Prices start from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Ollerton. The price comes down to:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Access to the area
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How to get a fixed quote

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath

Send us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your WA16 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

What we do, step by step

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job generally takes a few hours, depending on the damage. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
