Bath repair in Marthall without replacing anything
Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. Each material is repaired a little differently: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. Our repair technicians work on acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel, and the jobs we see most are chips along the edge of the bath and a chip where the taps sit.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are not left on your own once we’ve gone.

What a repair cannot fix
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed

What we work on
- Cast iron enamel
- Pressed steel enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Acrylic
- Whirlpool & spa baths
Can I fix it myself?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

How the visit works
On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a morning or an afternoon. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.

Can you repair several things at once?
Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Repair or replace in Marthall?
A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: tiles along the rim generally crack when it comes out, a new panel is often needed, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. A repair skips all of it. Our bath repair starts from £95. Compared with replacing, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Keeping it looking good
So the finish stays in good condition:
- Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
- Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.
Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.
Common problems we fix in Marthall
Most bath damage comes from something dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On enamelled baths, any chip down to the metal will start to rust.
If you can see any of these, send us a picture:
- Chips under the taps
- Rusty patches near the plughole
- A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting
- A cracked acrylic bath

Landlord and trade work in Marthall
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Cheshire East and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
What your bath is made of matters
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.
