Repair or replace in Oxted?
Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

About our bath repair in Oxted
A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath. Most baths can be used again the day after. Our repair technicians work on roll-top & freestanding, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel, and the jobs we see most are a cracked acrylic bath and a chipped rim or side.
Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Surrey.

Questions from Oxted
Will it make a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
Do I have to be there?
We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.
Do you hold any accreditations?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.
What areas do you cover?
Across the UK, so Oxted is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.
Can you fix rust around the plughole?
Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. We take it back to sound metal, seal it, fill it and match the colour.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
Do the materials smell?
Expect a mild smell while we are working.
When to call us in Oxted
Baths take more knocks than people expect: bottles, shower heads and razors are dropped every day, and taps and wastes are tightened against the surface. Over time, chips and rust spots are almost inevitable.
These are the problems we are asked about most:
- Chips along the edge of the bath
- Rust spots around the plughole
- A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting
- Chips caused by builders

When a repair is not the answer
We will not take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.
What we work on
- Pressed steel enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Cast iron enamel
- Acrylic
- Whirlpool & spa baths
Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- How hard the colour is to match
- How much damage there is
- Doing more than one item at once
Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Send pictures for a quote
Phone pictures are fine. Make sure they show:
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
Keeping it looking good
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Have new chips seen to early
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- Rinse it down after each bath
- Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before running a bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.
A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
What we do, step by step
Here’s how a visit typically runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Plan for two to three hours for most chips. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.
How to prepare
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Let us know which floor the room is on
