Bath repair near Parbrook

Bath repair in Parbrook, done in place

Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. Our technicians work on roll-top & freestanding, acrylic and pressed steel enamel, and people most often call us about a chipped rim or side and holes from dropped items.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

How it works

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It generally takes a few hours, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

For landlords and businesses

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

What a repair cannot fix

We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Repair or replace in Parbrook?

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the entire surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Our bath repair starts from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why Parbrook customers choose us

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

How to look after the repair

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use

Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust sets in.

Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and water can get through to the floor below.

Common problems we fix in Parbrook

Many chips happen while the bathroom is being fitted. Tools, tiles and fittings get dropped into the bath, often before anyone notices. We repair snagging damage like this regularly.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Damage beneath the taps
  • A chipped rim or side
  • Rusty patches near the plughole
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface

What your quote should include

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • How the room is protected while they work

10 questions to ask before you book

Parbrook: your questions answered

How soon can you come?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Is a bath repair durable?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It carries our one-year guarantee.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, we frequently do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we will quote them together.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Most of the time. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so we need access under the bath.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.
