Bath repair across BA6: what to expect
Bath repair is our most common job. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all repaired in place, normally in a single visit. Our repair technicians work on cast iron enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic, and common reasons people contact us are a hole punched through by something heavy and an old repair that has yellowed or come loose.
The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we are there. Protection goes down first, then the work takes a few hours. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- We match both the colour and the shine.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, typically the day after.
What you will pay
Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for BA6. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Why book with us
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- Honest advice, even when it means no job
- Free fixed quotes from pictures
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in BA6 use us as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
Looking after it afterwards
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Have new chips seen to early
- Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.
If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Every use opens the crack a little more, and water can get through to the floor below.
Should you replace it?
Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. In most cases it doesn’t: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement.
What your quote should include
- Who will actually do the work
- Aftercare advice
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.
Common problems we fix in BA6
Rust normally starts where water sits, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Chips under the taps
- Rust spots around the plughole
- A kit repair that didn’t last
- Impact holes in acrylic
