Bath repair at your home in Pathfinder Village

Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. On steel and cast iron, exposed metal starts to rust, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. A repair stops both. Our repair technicians work on acrylic, pressed steel enamel and whirlpool & spa baths, and people most often call us about damage beneath the taps and a cracked acrylic bath.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Pathfinder Village questions

What happens if you find more damage?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. If pictures do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Are there extra charges for Pathfinder Village?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Do you work in Pathfinder Village?

We do. We send a technician to Pathfinder Village for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

How invisible is a bath repair?

On a bath in good condition, a colour-matched repair is very hard to spot. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Can pets and children be at home?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

Should you replace it?

Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. A repair keeps it in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Pathfinder Village. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Do you need bath repair in Pathfinder Village?

Heavy toiletries are the biggest single cause of chips, with dropped shower heads close behind. Taps and wastes cause problems too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.

Common reasons people in Pathfinder Village contact us are:

  • A chipped rim or side
  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Chips under the taps
  • A kit repair that didn’t last

What your quote should include

  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • What prep work is covered
  • Whether they match the colour on site

Choosing a repair company

How the visit works

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we’re there. We protect the area first, then the work takes a few hours. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. Once it has cured, typically by the day after, the bath is ready to use.

Before we arrive

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Ask for a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Looking after it afterwards

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Have new chips seen to early
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Store metal items away from the bath

Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through until it’s repaired. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

Can I fix it myself?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

Honest limits

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Different materials, different repairs

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Landlord and trade work in Pathfinder Village

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
