Need bath repair in Pen-dre?

Repair or replace: which is better?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

Why book with us

  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Everything repaired in place

Take a look at our prices page or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

About our bath repair in Pen-dre

We see every kind of bath damage: chips from dropped bottles, rust round the plughole, cracks in acrylic and holes from falling tools. Each is repaired in place. We’re often asked to fix deep scratches in acrylic and a kit repair that didn’t last, in acrylic, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

When we would advise against a repair

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we work on in Pen-dre

  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel

Can I fix it myself?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:

  • The type of damage
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How easy the damage is to reach

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed quote

Phone pictures are fine, there is no need for anything special. Just make sure we can see:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any details about the material
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath, we can price the job.

Keeping it looking good

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Have new chips seen to early

Don’t leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. And fix dripping taps promptly.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for a few hours from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to look after it.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, usually the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Ask for a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Advice

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Work for landlords and builders

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Gwynedd and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.
