About our bath repair in Pencaerau

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and you can generally bathe again the day after. There is no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. We regularly repair cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths, and common reasons people get in touch are rusty patches near the plughole and a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting.

Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Pencaerau. The price depends on:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The material and finish

Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

How to get a fixed quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • Any details about the material
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Email us a picture of the damage and one of the whole item, with your SA11 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

FAQs for Pencaerau

When can you do it?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including older coloured suites.

Does someone need to be in?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we will quote them together.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. If pictures do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel

Landlord and trade work in Pencaerau

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Pencaerau use us as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Repair or replace: which is better?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Why us?

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

When to call us in Pencaerau

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and building work is a common culprit. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath isn’t properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

Look out for any of the following:

  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Damage beneath the taps
  • A kit repair that didn’t last

What to look for in a quote

  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Who turns up on the day
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • What preparation is included

Aftercare tips

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly

Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Deal with new chips early, before rust can start.

A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.

How the visit works

Once we’re through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes two to three hours for most chips, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
