Bath repair at your home in Penkridge

We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Whether it’s an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and a chip where the taps sit, we can usually put it right.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll come back.

Landlord and trade work in Penkridge

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Staffordshire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Penkridge. The price reflects:

  • How much damage there is
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The type of damage

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

How to get a fixed quote

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One picture of the whole bath

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. There’s no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

Penkridge: your questions answered

Will the repair show?

On a bath in good condition, a colour matched repair is very hard to spot. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Generally, yes. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

Can you repair a hole in a bath?

In most cases. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.

What happens after I send pictures?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote with dates.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

What areas do you cover?

Across the UK. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Aftercare tips

Looking after the surface is easy:

  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale

There is nothing special to do after a repair, beyond gentle cleaning. Skip bleach and gritty creams and give it a rinse after each bath.

Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water cannot get in. Take it off before we arrive.

Common problems we fix in Penkridge

Acrylic baths that crack nearly always have a support problem. Loose legs, no proper cradle or a floor that gives let the bath move until it cracks.

The things customers usually mention when they call include:

  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Chips under the taps
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Impact holes in acrylic

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • Aftercare advice
  • What prep work is covered

Choosing a repair company

What we do, step by step

We work cleanly and quietly. We protect the area first, then the work takes two to three hours for most chips. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. Once it has cured, normally by the day after, the bath is ready to use.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Getting a price

Email us photos of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your ST19 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Related advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

When we’d advise against a repair

A repair is not always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. We cannot fix:

  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Repairing versus replacing in Penkridge

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it takes one visit, and the bathroom stays exactly as it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why us?

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
