Bath repair near Penllergaer

For landlords and businesses

For anyone letting property in or around Penllergaer, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Bath repair in Penllergaer, done in place

Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. If you are dealing with chips under the taps and rust by the waste and overflow, we can generally put it right, on pressed steel enamel, acrylic and whirlpool & spa baths alike.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll sort it.

Repairs by material

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.

Penllergaer questions

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Will I be able to see the repair?

We aim for a repair you can’t easily find. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath, and we will tell you what to expect.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

What information do you need?

Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787.

Are there extra charges for Penllergaer?

There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including older coloured suites.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Do you cover the entire of Swansea?

The whole UK, including all of Swansea. Send your postcode with your photos and we’ll confirm dates.

Signs you need bath repair in Penllergaer

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and building work is a common culprit. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • A chip where the taps sit
  • Snagging damage from a refit

What to look for in a quote

  • What happens if they find more damage
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • What prep work is covered
  • Whether a trained technician does the job

What we can’t put right

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

How it works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. Most jobs take a few hours, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

Related advice

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Should you replace it?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Our bath repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Why Penllergaer customers choose us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Work done at your home or business
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine without abrasive products.

Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water cannot get in. Take it off before we arrive.
