What affects the price in Pentrepiod

Repairs from £95. There is no charge for travel to Pentrepiod. The price comes down to:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The material
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How much damage there is

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

Quotes from your pictures

You can normally get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • Any details about the material
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

For a price in Pentrepiod, photos are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Signs you need bath repair in Pentrepiod

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • Chips under the taps
  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted

What to look for in a quote

  • How the colour is matched
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • What prep work is covered
  • How changes to the job are handled

Our hiring checklist

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

How the visit works

Your technician turns up when we said we would and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. The work itself takes two to three hours for most chips, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Related advice

Should you replace it?

Think about the hidden costs of a new bath: removal and disposal, plumbing, a new panel, tiling and decorating. A repair is one job, done in one visit. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why us?

  • No extra charge for your area
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

Aftercare tips

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it

Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, as they can leave rust marks. And fix dripping taps promptly.

Small chips are quick to repair. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so early repair saves time and money.
